Oh, Let Them Eat Cake Too As always Martha Stewart has some clean tidy advice - especially for those caught abusing the system to get richer than rich. Her advice? Have something very worthwhile to focus on.
Yahoo! News reports (Martha Stewart Says She'll Be Exonerated):
Another Züri Summer Day Ahh, That's Better Nothing much to report yet today. I spent the day yesterday in bed recovering from some critters that must have been in the Limmat river water I swallowed on Sunday afternoon. But, the sun has returned, and today's picture is a much better representation of my Züri summer than the one I posted Monday. So, I'm making a moment to post it. Monday, June 24, 2002
Now that Actually Might Be a Bad Sign
While I'm never one to beat a dead horse ... I invite you to check out the RaptureReady.com End Time Signs Photorama. These photos are a handy reference for recognized the latter days. Here's only one of the groovy end times photographs - called Sodom Revisited.
Are YOU Ready? Call RaptureReady.com Are you feeling rejected by God? Asking yourself "Why didn't he take me?" If so, perhaps the rapture occured and you were left behind (while all the literal minded Christians mysteriously vanished to heaven).
But, thankfully some literal minded zealous Christians have created a web-site dedicated to disseminating a wealth of information on the fast approaching End-of-the-Whole-Wide-World. The biblical interpretation of the www.raptureready.com authors is the same one popularised by that Left Behind book, comic book, and movie franchise. The idea is: at some unknown - but fast approaching - hour all born again believers of Jesus Christ will be taken to heaven, in the twinkling of an eye, and every one else will be left behind holding the bag as all of time winds down towards the Christian Götterdämmerung. But, this rapture event isn't the end of the world - only the beginning of the end. After the rapture comes a brief (relatively speaking) seven year long time of great tribulation (when the seas turn to congealed blood, astroids hit the earth, and the infamous Antichrist takes over the European Union and the rest of the unraptured world). Thank God (literally) that the rapture is apparantly also not the end of the World Wide Web, because some thoughtful believers have prepared a lot of guidelines to leave behind for the unraptured on their web site. Check out: Oops, I Guess I Wasn't Ready! And if you ARE feeling rejected by God remember, the site advises (incase of sudden rapture), "The problem wasn't that God rejected you; the problem is that you have rejected him. By not committing your life to Jesus and by not following after him, you have left him with no other choice but to leave you behind." It's a shame that this site references a boat-load of ancient and wise symbolism about how to live in the world, but turns it all into a rather silly lost episode of the X-Files.
But Now This is Monday As I said yesterday, "it could be chilly and rainy by tomorrow". Well, it seems I was right. I guess tonight would be a good night to do the laundry. Sunday, June 23, 2002
Next Even if special Swiss Summer Days weren't meant for blogging, blogging is a quick and immediate activity. So do check back. I'll try to fit in at least a line or two every day.
Sunny Sunday in Zürich So That's Why They Have Summer Re-runs Hi again, loyal readers. It seems the Züri G'Schnatzelts went on another un-planned hiatus. What can I tell you? Summer arrived in Zürich in spectacular style. This year we've had days and days of warm sun .. and at times like this Zürich really is the Most Beautiful City in the Whole World. For the last few years, my friends, summer has been a few enchanting weeks of sun in August when the temperatures climb up into the high 80's ... but just when you get your summer groove really going it all ends ... the rain comes and then even if the sun comes again the temperatures never climb back into the 70's. But this year, in June already, the temperatures are in the 90's (f) and we've only seen a hint of rain since the 9th. My idyllic days go something like this ... rise and shine as the welcome sunlight comes streaming in my open bedroom window (the first of dawn's rosy fingers tips into the sky around 4 AM these days!) ... ride my thrifty and sturdy second hand bicycle to the train station ... take the train to work (because I have to) ... work as long as I can stand to ... take the train back to the station ... jump onto my faithfully waiting bicycle ... ride out over the convenient walking/running/riding trail along the river Limmat (Dallas' Katy Trail - eat your heart out) to the wonderful Werd Insel (Green Island) ... lay (naked - it is Europe) in the sun ... jump in the clear icy cold river that began it's personal journey as a glacier in the Alps and by now is tainted only by goat piss and Heidi's vomit ... ride out whereever else my bicycle takes me ... collapse into bed shortly after the last rays of light kiss the sky around 10:30 PM ... only to begin it all again. You see; that schedule doesn't leave a lot of room for updatin'. Blogging it turns out is a pursuit better suited for rainy days or cold lonely nights. And since there are no airconditioners in Switzerland I can tell you that blogging isn't the best activity for a 90+ (f) degree day! Do I have to tell you I love every minute of this summer? I'm trying to store up every minute of it in my mind and body 'cause I know that global warming, or no, it could be chilly and rainy by tomorrow. The solstice has passed and already the days are getting shorter - which means no more time to write. The sun calls: Kommt Schteve! Kommt! (Check it out here: http://cam.switch.ch.) Tchüss 'same! Keep Reading I'm coming back soon with more news and surprise revelations. So don't give up on my blog; I know you thought I did. By the way, summer is grand.
See ya soon!

I've attempted to leave this blog in the state it was in early 2006 as a historical artifact, but Google broke my original Archive page. What you see above is a quick reconstruction to rebuild some archive functionality
without altering the original blog layout (or researching too deeply into Blogspot).
